Early Intervention Specialist (K-2)
As the Early Intervention Specialist, I provide intervention to students in all components of literacy. I am also fortunate to not only work with students, but with teachers and other specialists in the district.
The majority of my day consists of providing small group support for non-mastery students through intensive, data-driven, research based instruction utilizing both a push-in and pull-out model as appropriate. Together, we work on phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, comprehension and writing.
I also serve on many committees which monitor student progress, but working with students and watching them grow as lifelong readers and writers is by far the most rewarding part of being a specialist.
